About Feona

SIRE: First Gotthard combined the unparalled bloodlines of Furioso II and Gotthard. He and the remarkable Dutch stallion Voltaire were the only two living stallions in the world offering this bloodline combination. First Gotthard was ranked among the top 10% best producers of jumpers in his age group in the Hanoverian breed and he himself had a jumping index of 142. Whilst known for producing jumpers eg the International showjumper, Fuerst Gotthard shown as 'The Titleist' (see the picture at the top of the page), he has also produced many dressage horses. He is the sire of the licensed stallions Fuerst Ramses, Feuerwerk, Furst Gotthard and Fuerst Gotthard, and of several Elite and Champion mares and of the SPS mare First Classic, dam of two approved stallions, Secret Agent and Prinz Charming.

GRANDSIRE: Furioso II was heralded as perhaps the most influential stallion in sporthorse breeding ever. He died in 1986 having sired 81 approved sons, 96 dams of approved sons, and progeny earnings of DM9,000,000. His showjumping stars included: FBI (with Thomas Frühmann), Heissman (ridden by Eric Van Der Vleuten, then Michael Matz) and For Pleasure (ridden by Lars Neiberg and later Marcus Ehnning).

GRAND DAM: First Gotthard's dam, Gotik by Gotthard has produced four other licensed stallions, Fursterngold, Furstensoltz, Rincon Furioso and Ingold.

DAM: Pleasant Hour xx was an OTTB taken by her amateur owner to GP. Her bloodlines include two crosses to Nasrullah xx seen in most top TB sporthorse pedigrees. She also has three crosses to Princequillo xx and one to Turn To xx both known to produce top showjumpers. This is the same mare family as the great Furioso xx (the sire of Furioso II), one of the most influential sires of showjumpers that the world has known. Other famous stallions from the same family who are known to produce top showjumpers are are Phalaris xx and Court Martial xx.
